Bubbles loves Bubbly – two cards for different challenges…

mp37_3Love this image from stamping bella… It’s called “Uptown Girl Bubbles loves Bubbly”.  I have stamped it twice and created a couple of cards.. I am entering the card above in the following challenge at Cutie Pie which is spots and dots, hence the dotty colored paper.mp37_4

I colored her in with copic markers, I added some wink of stella glitter pen to the bubbles and also put some glossy accents on the glass and a few of the bubbles to give them a little more dimension.  I also added a tiny pearl to the middle of the cushion, so it looks like a little button.mp37_5On the inside of the card I stamped this greeting and added a couple of extra hearts to tie the outside to the inside…

For my next card, it’s pretty much the same, I just colored in a big red bath and used some really fun striped paper for the background…

I am entering this card in the Marker Pop # 37 challenge which is anything goes and the Seize the birthday challenge which has an optional extra of hearts….mp37_6A little trick I like to do is to color in my pearls so they match my project.  I buy white pearls and then color them in with my copics.  That way I can have them match perfectly with my card.  In the card above I used BG72, BG75 and BG78 for the pillow she is laying her head on and then I colored the pearls with BG75.

Thanks for checking out my creations…

My Baby turns 8 next month….

cas83_2

*****I thought I’d put this on the Clean and Simple Card class in March even though I did this last month as this is a scene creation which is one layer, but I had just matted it with the Mama Elephant frames…  Hope you don’t mind – just another idea*****

My son, Xavier, turns 8 next month.  I cannot believe how fast those years have gone.  It seems like just yesterday when we were going backwards and forwards to the hospital to visit him (he was a premie and had to stay in hospital for 4 weeks).  The most exciting and scary day of our lives was easter when we got to take him home…  He’s a great kid and he already does amazing things in my eyes, so I hope he believes he can do amazing things too.  This will be his birthday card…

I loved the theme at CASology this week which was jump, Week 83 - JumpI was hunting through my stamps and found my “Little Fella” set from paper smooches with this little alien and skate board.  I masked off the round shape for the earth and used peacock feathers distress ink, then colored some random blobs with my green copic markers for the land.  I stamped the alien and masked him off, I then covered over the earth and distressed the space background with tumbled glass, broken china and black soot, then stamped a few stars with white ink.  I colored the alien with yellow copics to help him stand out against the background.  I thought this was a fun card with the alien jumping into space on his skateboard.

I will also enter this in the anything goes challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks… and the anything goes challenge at Marker Pop.cas83_1

I also stamped the little alien on the inside of the card and colored him in as well… This was such a fun card to make..  Thanks for popping by to check it out!!

Feeling Sketchy #80

fs80_2I’m joining in the Feeling Sketchy challenge #80 this week.80I have used the fabulous Mama Elephant stamp set “Fair Feathers” and the “Modern Borders”.  I really didn’t think I liked the feather stamps until I saw this set and the amazing cards some  of the DT for Mama Elephant made with these.  Now I am in love with this set too…  I have been using it a lot and my last post had a few more little cards using these stamps…  Here is a close up of the little feather and ink well…fs80_1

Thanks for checking out my card…

Keep in touch

cfc128_1I am entering the CAS-UAL FRIDAYS #128 challenge which is “so long” and the CASE this sketch challenge.CTS_Sketch_64 cfc128

My card is 3 by 5 1/2 inches, so it’s a “long” card… and I’ve turned the sketch around to the side.

I love this Mama Elephant stamp set.  That little feather is so so cute.  I used tide pool shadow ink for the feather and also for the border around the main mat.  I love how the little feather sticks up out of the ink jar.  I cut a little slit in the ink jar, stuck the end of the feather through the slit and put sticky tape on the other side of the feather to hold it in place.  I have no pop tape on the card, so I love how the feather is completely sitting up by itself….

cfc128_2I thought I’d do a couple of other cards in different colors. LOVE THIS SET!!cfc128_5 cfc128_4 cfc128_3

Thanks for checking out my cards…

CASE study with Mama Elephant

cfc127_1I have used a card from CASE STUDY 177 and used the “over the edge” challenge from CAS-UAL FRIDAYS to come up with this card. Here is the inspiration for my card:CSC177_zpsf74cb7ccI loved the gold, black and chevron patterns here.  I don’t have gold embossing powder, so I stamped the feathers (from Mama Elephant) on some vellum with a champagne chalk ink and dusted it with gold perfect pearls and heat set it.  Mama Elephant also have matching die’s for the feather.  The ink pot was stamped on vellum, embossed in black and heat set.  I cut a small slit in the ink pot to put the feathers in.  The chevron tag and gold bow were made using dies from Mama Elephant.  I used the curved edge border from Simon Says Stamp to create the curved edge on the front of the card and glued some gold paper to the back of the card, so when it closes you get a small peak of gold.  The feather and tag actually hang off the side of the card.cfc127_2I liked the “gold” feather in the end and loved how the ink splotches and sentiment also worked with the perfect pearls.  It’s amazing what you can find in your craft stash and I quite liked my faux embossing powder…

Paper Smooches Inspiration

PSfeb14_1I am joining in the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.  I used a few different Paper Smmoches stamps to create this card.  I stamped the hexagon border twice, then colored it with a gradient of pink copic markers.  I put a few gold hexagons that I fussy cut inside the border.  The tag is from a mama elephant die cut and I used copics to color it in as well.  I stamped the flower image from the “crystal clear” set.  The “hey chickie” sentiment is from the chubby chums stamp set.  I mounted the white card on a grey note card which matched the grey in the inspiration photo below…

Here is a close up of the shiny gold hexagons and gold flower.  I didn’t have any gold embossing powder (must put on my wish list), so I stamped the flower in a champagne chalk ink, then dusted it with gold perfect pearls and heat set it…  It came out pretty well in the end!!PSfeb14_2Thanks for looking…

Paper Smooches Note Cards

fs79_3fs79_7I made a few note cards today with the Paper Smooches Chubby Chums set… LOVE IT!!  These are all 3″ by 3″ notecards and I am loving little note cards at the moment.

I based the first lot of cards on the Dynamic Duo Challenge which was “red and teal” and also on the Feeling Sketchy #79 sketch.79 88

Here are a few close ups for the feeling sketchy and dynamic duos challenge:fs79_4 fs79_2 fs79_1

This set is for the Paper Smooches anything goes challengefs79_10 fs79_8fs79_9I used a little stampin’ up embossing folder to make the little frame which the “chums” are sitting in.fs79_5                                 The above chums are the ones I used for the little cards…

Party!

fms121_2My Hubby turns 40 tomorrow.   Eeeeeekkkkk, that means I’m not far behind!!  Thought I’d better make him a card.  I’ve used the sketch from Freshly Made sketches challenge 121.  Hopefully you can see my inspiration.. I’ve changed the placing slightly.FMS Final 121-001I used the grunge stamp set from stampin’ up to stamp the paint splatters and the small lines and splatters on the background card.  I didn’t have the same colored ink as the words I stamped, so I inked up a piece of paper with the same color.

I put some glossy accents on the paint splatters to make it look like it was still wet!!fms121_1

Thanks for checking it out!!
