Fairy Fae catches a star

mp38_1I participated in an online color along with Alyce from Kit and Clowder on Saturday night – you can visit her website HERE.  This was the image we colored (from Tiddly Inks), however this was my second attempt using mainly greens for the Marker Pop challenge and the The Card Concept.  badge_new_challenge_every_other_monday 943046_10151805186312547_592338746_nI used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 for my layout inspiration.08I had finished coloring her hair, skin, dress and was doing her wings when I had a copic pen malfunction!!  Don’t you just hate that!!  I’d already come so far, that I had to attempt to save her!!IMG_5411I’ve taken a picture from the back of the image so you can see how bad it was – it went into her hair, all over her wings and in the white space between.  I think I managed to save it ok.  I had to go back over her hair, I made the back wing extra dark and used a white gel pen to try to remake the white between the wing and hair.mp38_2Here’s a close up of the image… I’ve used wink of stella glitter on her wings and the star which gives it such a pretty glow.  I also did a little bit of watercolor with distress inks in the background.

Thanks for looking…

    GREAT SAVE!!!

Your coloring rocks! Flawless blending and beautiful shading! What a fabulous way to incorporate the challenge colors into your project. This is such a pretty image, especially with the bit of subtle sparkle from the Wink of Stella. Thank you so much for sharing your card with us at the Card Concept Challenge :)

I have to admit I zoomed way in to see if I could see the little boo-boo and the answer is NO…couldn’t see it a bit! In fact, this is one of the best coloring cards I have seen in a long time! You are REALLY talented…wish I was just a smidgen this good, I might even try to color something if I was. Beautiful card using the inspiration colors!

You did a wonderful job saving your image from the copic mishap. I would of never know by looking at your beautiful card. The way you colored her wings looks like her hair is casting a shadow over them. Such a cute image . Thanks for joining us this week.
